Let me tell you a story.
So when I started out making music all the record labels hated me. I was like the number 1 enemy because I used to just take everyone else’s songs without permission, remix them and then release them on my SoundCloud for the whole world.
I did some remixes that got pretty big and eventually some record label started to pay me to do remixes, which was crazy for me.
This tattoo that I have here, that’s actually the date that I first got paid by a record label to do a remix. So that’s all the way back in 2016.
Anyway, where am I going with this?
One of my favorite record labels reached out to me with 1 of their most iconic tunes and said “will you do a remix of this song for 2024 and we’ll put your name alongside the original artist.”
I feel like I’ve reached the point as a remixer where people actually want that James Hype remix!
