Kygo, Ashley, & Kygo (@kygomusic) – Palm Tree Music Festival, Southampton, NY • After sharing Kygo the dog’s story about his terminal osteosarcoma last week, the response was humbling. Over 14,000 people commented words of comfort for Ashley, Kygo’s owner, and one of those people was Kygo the DJ, her dog’s namesake. He invited us all out to his concert in Southampton to meet up before the show. It turns out, despite not growing up with dogs or having one at the moment, Kygo fully understood the importance of a dog and what they mean to their person. I want to thank Kygo the man for making Kygo the dog’s second bucket list dream come true. @empirestateofkygo
The power of The Dogist community was strong with this one – everyone came together for a mom and her dog with cancer to help make their last chapter together extra special. Seeing the effect Kygo had on everyone on Saturday – some smiles, some tears – was a uniquely special experience for me too, and I’m honored to have been a part of Kygo the dog’s life. I want to thank the @bradyhunterfoundation for helping alleviate Ashley’s medical costs for Kygo, with a $10,000 gift to them, along with a $10,000 donation to the @nationalcaninecancerfoundation in honor of Ashley and Kygo.
In support of their research in helping fight against cancer in our beloved dogs, I would like to call on The Dogist community to help raise an additional $10,000 for the National Canine Cancer Foundation.
